Throughout his career, Matt Dunne has supported our Veterans and fought hard for for new ways to honor our national heroes.


  1. Matt sponsored and spearheaded the creation of Vermont Veterans license plates.


  1. Matt sponsored legislation to create Gold Star Mother Day in Vermont.


  1. Matt pushed through legislation to give Veterans preference for State jobs.


  1. Matt has received honors from both State Legion and National American Legion for his efforts on behalf of Veterans.

SOME FACTS ABOUT MATT


With deep Vermont roots that go back for generations, Matt lives with his wife and two children in the same Hartland farmhouse where he was raised.


At age 22, Matt was elected by his hometown to work hard for them in the Vermont legislature, where he ultimately served for 11 years.  


At 30, Matt was asked by President Clinton to head up AmeriCorps*VISTA -- our domestic Peace Corps -- where he managed 6,000 employees (almost the size of Vermont’s state government) leading the effort to empower people out of poverty. 


Today, Matt works for Google from his office in White River Junction and helps bring innovative technology to communities across the country.
